Officer Positions for 2010-2011

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Lake Zurich High School
JOB DESCRIPTIONS/CHAPTER OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE CHAIRS

PRESIDENT
The president shall be responsible for:
*Meeting with Sponsors twice weekly or as needed to confirm chapter activities
*Conducting all chapter meetings in an orderly and organized manner
*Scheduling and announcing all chapter meetings
*Meeting with the Assistant Principal for Student Activities regarding chapter activities
*Demonstrating responsibility for leading chapter activities
*Organizing members to assist at Freshman Orientations, 8th grade Orientations and working with Student Council to plan member and school events

VICE PRESIDENT: 2 positions Service and Tutoring (+Service coordinator/Tutoring Coordinator)
The Vice President shall be responsible for:
*Acting on behalf of the president in his/her absence
*Coordinating volunteer service hours, receiving requests, publicizing opportunities
*Serving as a liaison between service organizations and volunteers
*Chairing and coordinating special sub-committees as needed

SECRETARY (2 - 4 POSITIONS DIVIDED BY SERVICE TEAMS)
The Secretaries shall be responsible for:
*Recording and writing Minutes for all chapter meeting – officer and general membership
*Maintaining member files – service hour tallies, correspondence, etc.
*Posting chapter information (meeting, etc) for membership notice
*Advising the sponsors of member’s service tallies, and potential hour shortages
*Posting updated hour tallies at least twice a month

TREASURER
The Treasurer shall be responsible for:
*Maintaining chapter financial records/report to school accountant
*Advising the sponsors/fellow officers of account balances
*Coordinating chapter fund-raising activities – soliciting information, suggestions, and distribution and collection of fund-raising activities

ANNOUNCEMENTS
*Coordinating sign-up for daily announcements, posting the lists, and notifying
Mrs. Rzesa

PUBLICITY/PHOTOGRAPHER
*Publicizing the NHS activities on the NHS bulletin board, in newspapers and newsletters

WEBSITE COORDINATOR
*Maintain, update, organize organization website
*Post Service opportunities
*Maintain accurate membership contacts

LZ Expo Volunteer Opportunity

The Lake Zurich Chamber of Commerce is looking for 10 - 15 LZHS students again this year to help at the LZ Expo which will be held at the HS on March 12 and 13. They need volunteers to help vendors set up and tear down their booths which will be located in the Fieldhouse and Tonelli gym. Please contact:

NHS Induction

March 15th will be the induction ceremony for incoming new NHS members. This is a mandatory event. If for some reason you cannot attend, please see Ms. Sansone or Ms. McOmber immediately.
